Tiny toes,

little wrinkles and smiles. All of the lovely things a baby brings. I had such a great time with Bethany and Mateo, again! We first met for an outdoor session with the whole family. It was so enjoyable having Bethany and Mateo in front of my camera again, inside where the environment was controlled and we could keep Mateo warm and comfortable. I was so excited to capture moments that I couldn’t capture during their family session. The great thing about studio sessions is that we are not rushed by cold weather or limited by the lighting. I am able to capture the moments that are most important to you even during the cold winter months, and in Montana, those months sure are cold.

Whenever I get a little human in front of my camera one of my first go to shots is those tiny tinny toes and wrinkly feet. I can't help it; they are my favorite. And don’t forget about those dimpled fingers! There are so many things that I love about mom and me sessions! But I love saving a little time to focus on just the littles alone. This allows me to capture them at their current phase in life. Maybe they are just starting to hold themselves up at tummy time or sitting on their own. Maybe they just discovered their feet and are loving to lay on their back and grab those little piggys. With Mateo I wanted to be sure to capture him holding himself up and playing on his back because that is what he is doing right now and capturing that was so important so Bethany and Pablo (Mateo’s dad) can have a return ticket to this time in their families lives.

But as much as I prioritize capturing the little by themselves, I do the same for mom and the littles together. This is where I can get some precious candid moments and those perfect portraits as well. And the best part is that this can happen with older children, not just babies. And let's be honest, no matter how old our kiddos are, they will always be our babies. There is nothing sweeter than the moments captured as Bethany made Mateo smile by flying him above her head or when she was comforting him because he had his fill of the spotlight.

Bethany,

Thank you so much for letting me capture you and Mateo at this age. These are some of the most precious moments in life and are so quickly gone. I am honored to have been a part of making these moments last forever. I remember when my son was 3 months old and what I wouldn’t give to go back and relive those sleepless nights and tiring days. In fact, one of my 3 wishes is to be able to travel back to any age of my son’s life and live there for as long as I want. While I know that will never be possible, the next best thing we have are portraits and I am so honored that I was able to get you those before you start your new journey in Arizona. P.S. I love warm weather so if you ever need me, I am there!
